JK Economics Inc. has been operating since September 2001. Since then, we have provided our clients with over 2500 reports on economic losses, housekeeping/home maintenance costs, costs of care, and dependency losses. Eli Katz, the principal economist of JK Economics, has been qualified to testify in courts in Ontario and Illinois.

Eli’s expertise in loss quantification has been recognized by the Canadian Bar Association (CBA): he was asked by the CBA to submit an opinion to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia concerning the choice of appropriate discount rates for future income losses and costs of care. 

Eli has a Ph.D. in economics from London University.  He specializes in labour economics and in finance, and has taught these subjects as well as mathematics and statistics at the undergraduate and graduate level at Harvard University, London University, Bar Ilan University in Israel, and York University. He has published around 100 articles in peer reviewed professional economics and finance journals. Eli was on the boards of editors of academic journals in economics and in finance. In addition to working and consulting for the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, he has advised several private corporations, and has a long-standing association with a major actuarial consulting firm in London, England.

Stephanie Greenwald, a partner at JK Economics, has a BA in mathematics and is a graduate of University of Toronto’s Graduate Diploma in Investigative and Forensic Accounting (DIFA) program. She joined JK Economics after working at an international accounting firm where she specialized in dispute analysis. Stephanie has over fifteen years of experience working in damage quantification for litigation purposes and has worked on numerous litigation support assignments involving economic losses relating to personal injury, medical malpractice, and fatalities as well as business interruption.
